Reports
Pennsylvania Meeting
Greg reported that he attended the SEC meeting of the Socialist Party of Pennsylvania. Minutes are attached). He was asked to leave the meeting before they discussed replacing officers, but the minutes report that Gabe Ross would stay on as State Chair though the next SEC election (2008) and that Richard D’Loss was asked to serve as State Secretary until that time as well.

Gabe Ross reported that the Johnstown Local did not vote to join the “SPA”.

Follow-up with Oregon & Wisconsin
Greg Reported that neither the SEC of Wisconsin nor the SEC of Oregon had officially responded to the NC resolution on Steve Sears (WI) or Michael Marino (OR). The deadline was set at March 30th. He hoped to send a report of their communication by then.

Convention Location
Greg reported that he had not heard back from Raul Cano on an Austin proposal and the proposal for Kansas City was rumored to have been withdrawn. He asked that both be given a few days to respond.
Motion: The NAC directs the National Secretary to wait until March 6th for the completed convention proposal for Austin Texas and a final decision on whether the Kansas City location is still being proposed. If Kansas City and Austin proposals do not come through, the St. Louis proposal will win by default. Motion passed with 3 yes votes.

(the final portion of the NAC meeting was held by mail ballot)
Motion: Whereas, that the Socialist Party USA's Florida State affiliate does not currently have full State Committee, with only one officer, Atlee Yarrow elected by membership at its last convention;

Be it Resolved, that the National Committee temporarily suspends the charter for the Socialist Party of Florida until a state-wide convention can be held to elect a full State Executive Committee. The convention is to be held before June 10, 2007.

The National Committee directs the National Secretary to work with Marc Luzetti and other SPUSA members in the state of Florida to organize the state convention and will allocate up to $150 of it's state organizing fund to secure a location and meet the needs of holding the meeting. The National Secretary is further directed to contact all Florida members to alert them of this resolution and to encourage them to attend and possibly run for one of the State Executive Committee positions. Motion passed with 4 yes votes.
