Minutes: 2006 National Action Committee

Held by Phone Conference (pm Eastern)
Attending: Greg Pason, Matthew Andrews, Diane Brand and Susan Dorazio.
 
Discussion on Ad Hoc Committees created by the National Committee at the June meeting.
 
Local Fundraising Committee
Motion: To name Diane Brand,  Mary Loritz, Susan Dorazio and  Matthew Andrews to the Local Fundraising Committee. Motion passed unanimously.
 
Organizing Conference Advertisement Committee
Motion: To name Susan Dorazio, Mary Loritz and Matthew Andrews to the Organizing Conference Advertising Committee.  The deadline for ads is July 21st. (as per. NC resolution). Motion passed unanimously.
 
Standing Committees
Following the directives of the National Committee, the following officers have been named as chairs of the Party’s Standing Committees:
Internal Communications - Mary Loritz
Finance/Fundraising: Matthew Andrews
Organizing Conf. Committee- Raul Cano
Convention Planning Committee- Susan Dorazio

 
Treasurer: Greg put out call for applications in by August 15th.
 
Summer Campaigns
The following individuals are named as chairs of the 2007Socialist Summer campaigns.
Alliance for Fair Food: co-conveners-Steve Sears and Diane Brand. Approved unanimously
Anti-Recruitment: co-conveners-Tina Phillips and Benjamin Schwab. Approved unanimously
New Orleans Solidarity- The NAC asked Greg to put out another call for volunteers of possible conveners and to send names to the NAC by July 7th for a NAC vote.
 
Organizing Conference
The NAC discussed getting the Org. Conf. Committee to finalize schedule, panels and social events ASAP. Greg & Susan agreed to contact Steve Sears & Raul Cano to find out where the Org. Conf. Committee was on finalizing  panels, speakers, etc. and how to get the final list together soon. Matthew Andrews agreed to get Yipsels to register and will send more info. on the YPSL convention schedule.
 
Other business
Greg reported that Matthew delivered SW and half the mailing should be in the mail this week. The mailing includes Socialist Women, The Organizer and info. on the Organizing Conference.
